Blujin People Explorer Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Blujin, Corp. ("Blujin," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with Blujin People Explorer ("People Explorer" or the "Service"). This Policy is incorporated into the Blujin Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Policy applies to individuals who create a Blujin User ID to access People Explorer ("Users"), including Authorized Users who access People Explorer under a Client's subscription, wherever they are located, and individuals who act as billing contacts for a Client. People Explorer analyzes publicly available profile information viewed by a User within the User's authenticated session on a Professional Networking Platform. Except as described in Section 2.3, this profile information and the analysis derived from it are processed and stored locally on the User's computer and are not collected by Blujin.

People Explorer is an independent browser extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any Professional Networking Platform. It requests only the browser permissions necessary to analyze profile data during the User's active session and does not track or log browsing history outside that scope.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

To create a Blujin User ID, we collect the User's name, email address, and password. If a User accesses People Explorer under a Client's subscription, we also record which Client the User is associated with.

2.2 Login and License Control Information

When a User logs in to People Explorer, we collect the User's IP address and general location solely for license control, including verifying authorized use of a Blujin subscription.

2.3 Profile Data (Processed Locally on the User's Computer)

People Explorer analyzes public profile information visible to the User within the User's authenticated session on a Professional Networking Platform. Skill detection, experience scoring, and other profile analysis are performed on the User's computer. Blujin does not collect, transmit, or store the profile content or analysis on its servers. People Explorer may save the URL of a profile on a Professional Networking Platform to associate that profile with other information. The saved URL does not include the profile content or analysis.

2.4 Job Description Information

When a User creates a job and defines its skill requirements, People Explorer may copy a Job Description uploaded from a local file or retrieved from a public URL. Unlike the profile data described in Section 2.3, Job Description content is transmitted to and stored on Blujin's cloud servers to configure the User's job and matching criteria. Blujin uses automated data-sanitization processes designed to identify and remove incidental Personally Identifiable Information (PII) before retention.

2.5 Payment and Billing Information

Credit card purchases. When a User purchases a People Explorer subscription by credit card, payment card information is provided directly to Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"), our payment processor. Blujin does not collect or have access to the User's full credit card number. Stripe provides Blujin limited billing information, such as name, email address, billing address, card type, and last four digits, which we use to administer the subscription and account. Stripe's collection and use of payment information are governed by its privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Invoiced purchases. When a Client purchases subscriptions under an Order Form and pays by invoice, we collect business contact and billing information, such as the name, business email address, and telephone number of the Client's billing and purchasing contacts, the Client's billing address, purchase order numbers, and records of payments received by ACH, wire transfer, or check. We do not store full bank account numbers beyond what appears on payment records provided by our bank.

2.6 Telemetry and Diagnostic Data

To maintain service reliability and monitor system health, we may collect anonymized telemetry, error logs, and aggregate usage metrics, such as feature interaction rates. This diagnostic data does not contain PII and is kept separate from locally processed profile data.

2.7 Records of Acceptance

When a User accepts the Terms of Service and this Policy, we record the User's Blujin User ID, the date and time of acceptance, and the version of the documents accepted.

3. How We Use Information

  • Account information (name, email, password) is used to create, authenticate, and administer the User's Blujin User ID, and to associate Authorized Users with their Client's subscription.
  • Login IP address and general location are used solely for license control, including confirming authorized use of a subscription.
  • Profile data analyzed under Section 2.3 is used to generate skill and experience scoring on the User's computer. Blujin does not receive or store the profile content or analysis. A saved profile URL may be used to associate the profile with other information related to that profile.
  • Job Description content collected under Section 2.4 is used to identify skills and the related job title so the User can define matching criteria for candidate review.
  • Skills and job titles identified from Job Descriptions may be incorporated into the Blujin Skillbase, our proprietary skills ontology, as described in Section 4 below.
  • Because experience scoring and skill detection occur on the User's local device, Blujin does not engage in centralized automated decision-making or profiling of employment candidates.
  • Billing information described in Section 2.5 is used to administer subscriptions, issue invoices, process payments and renewals, calculate applicable taxes, and maintain account and billing records.
  • Records of acceptance described in Section 2.7 are used to document agreement to the Terms of Service and this Policy.

4. The Blujin Skillbase and Limited Rights in Job Description Data

Blujin's rights in Job Description content are limited to identifying the skills and related job title it contains. Blujin may incorporate those skills and job titles into the Blujin Skillbase, our proprietary skills ontology, and retain them indefinitely to improve skill matching across the Service. Personal data or PII inadvertently included in a Job Description is not extracted for or incorporated into the Blujin Skillbase. Blujin does not otherwise use, license, sell, claim ownership of, or share the Job Description content.

5. Retention

  • Account information is retained while the User's Blujin User ID is active and as needed for legal and administrative requirements.
  • Login IP address and general location are retained as reasonably necessary for license control.
  • Profile content and analysis under Section 2.3 are not retained by Blujin; they are created, used, and stored on the User's computer. A profile URL saved as described in Section 2.3 may be retained for the purpose stated there. Uninstalling or disabling the People Explorer browser extension will purge locally stored profile data from the User's device.
  • Job Description content is retained on Blujin's servers as reasonably necessary to support the User's job configuration and the Blujin Skillbase.
  • Billing information described in Section 2.5 is retained while the applicable subscription is active and as needed for legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
  • Records of acceptance are retained for as long as the User's Blujin User ID is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

6. How We Share Information

Blujin does not share a User's account information, login/IP information, or Job Description content with third parties, except with service providers as described below. If a User accesses People Explorer under a Client's subscription, the Client may be informed of the User's name, email address, and subscription status so the Client can manage its Authorized Users.

Profile content and analysis under Section 2.3 are not collected by Blujin and therefore are not shared with third parties.

Blujin does not sell personal information or share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may use trusted service providers, such as cloud hosting providers, banks, and accounting or tax-compliance providers, to operate our servers, process payments, and store the information described in this Policy. These providers are contractually required to protect the data and use it only to provide services to Blujin.

As described in Section 2.5, payment card information is provided directly to Stripe to purchase a subscription. Blujin does not sell or otherwise share billing information with other third parties, except as described in this Section 6 or where required by law.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information described in this Policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If a confirmed security incident materially compromises Account Information or other centralized data, we will notify affected Users and/or relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, including under the GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, and the Philippines Data Privacy Act of 2012, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information we hold about you. You may also have rights to restrict or object to processing and to direct us not to sell or share your personal information. Blujin does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority where you live, such as the National Privacy Commission in the Philippines.

To exercise these rights or request deletion of your Blujin User ID and associated account data, contact us using the information in Section 11.

10. International Data Transfer

Blujin is headquartered in the United States. Users of People Explorer, including Authorized Users who access it under a Client's subscription, may be located outside the United States. Information we collect may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Those jurisdictions may have different data-protection laws from your country of residence. We use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Contact and Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify Users and ask them to accept the updated Policy the next time they log in to People Explorer, as described in the Terms of Service. For questions about this Policy or to exercise a privacy right, contact us at:
