Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Blujin, Corp. (“Blujin,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with Blujin People Explorer (“People Explorer” or the “Service”). This Policy is incorporated into, and should be read together with, the Blujin Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Policy applies to individuals who create a Blujin User ID to access People Explorer (“Users”). People Explorer analyzes publicly available profile information that a User views within their own authenticated session on a Professional Networking Platform. That analysis is performed and stored locally on the User's own computer, as described in Section 2.3 below, and is not collected by Blujin.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

To create a Blujin User ID, we collect the User's name, email address, and password.

2.2 Login and License Control Information

When a User logs in to People Explorer, we collect and retain the User's IP address and general location information. We use this information solely for license control purposes, such as verifying authorized use of a Blujin subscription.

2.3 Profile Data (Processed Locally on the User's Computer)

People Explorer analyzes public profile information visible to the User within the User's authenticated session on a Professional Networking Platform. This analysis — including skill detection and experience scoring — is performed entirely on the User's own computer. Blujin does not collect, transmit, or store this profile data, or the analysis derived from it, on Blujin's servers. It remains on the User's computer.

2.4 Job Description Information

If a User asks People Explorer to create a job and define its skill requirements, People Explorer will copy the content of a Job Description that the User uploads from a local file or retrieves from a public URL. Unlike the profile data described in Section 2.3, this Job Description content is transmitted to and stored on Blujin's cloud-based servers, so that it can be used to configure the User's job and matching criteria.

2.5 Payment Information

When a User purchases a People Explorer subscription, the User provides their payment card information directly to our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”). Blujin does not collect or receive the User's full credit card number, and does not have access to it. Stripe shares limited billing information back with Blujin, such as the User's name, email address, billing address, and card type and last four digits, which Blujin uses to administer the User's subscription and account. Stripe's own collection and use of payment information is governed by Stripe's privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

3. How We Use Information

  • Account information (name, email, password) is used to create, authenticate, and administer the User's Blujin User ID.
  • Login IP address and location information are used solely for license control, such as confirming authorized use of a subscription.
  • Profile data analyzed under Section 2.3 is used only to generate skill and experience scoring for the User, on the User's own computer; it is not used by Blujin for any other purpose, because Blujin never receives or stores it.
  • Job Description content collected under Section 2.4 is used to identify the individual skills and the related job title described in that Job Description, so the User can define matching criteria for candidate review.
  • Skills and job titles identified from Job Descriptions may be incorporated into the Blujin Skillbase, our proprietary skills ontology, as described in Section 4 below.
  • Billing information received from Stripe is used to administer the User's subscription, process renewals, and maintain account and billing records.

4. The Blujin Skillbase and Limited Rights in Job Description Data

Blujin's rights in the Job Description content a User submits are limited to identifying the individual skills and the related job title contained in that Job Description. Blujin may incorporate those skills and job titles into the Blujin Skillbase, our proprietary skills ontology, which we use and may retain indefinitely to improve skill-matching across the Service. Blujin does not otherwise use, license, sell, or claim ownership of the Job Description content itself, and does not share Job Description content with any other party.

5. Retention

  • Account information is retained for as long as the User's Blujin User ID remains active, and as needed to meet legal and administrative requirements.
  • Login IP address and location information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for license control purposes.
  • Profile data analyzed under Section 2.3 is not retained by Blujin at any time — it is created, used, and remains solely on the User's own computer.
  • Job Description content is retained on Blujin's servers for as long as reasonably necessary to support the User's job configuration and the Blujin Skillbase.
  • Billing information received from Stripe is retained for as long as the User's subscription is active, and as needed to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.

6. How We Share Information

Blujin does not share a User's account information, login/IP information, or Job Description content with any third party.

Because profile data analyzed under Section 2.3 is never collected by Blujin, it cannot be, and is not, shared with any third party.

Payment processing is the one exception to this: as described in Section 2.5, a User provides payment card information directly to Stripe, our payment processor, in order to purchase a subscription. Blujin does not sell or otherwise share billing information received from Stripe with any other third party.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the account, login, and Job Description information described in this Policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of certain personal information we hold about you, such as your account information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10.
