Blujin Resume Explorer
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Blujin, Corp. (“Blujin,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with Blujin Resume Explorer (“Resume Explorer” or the “Service”). This Policy is incorporated into, and should be read together with, the Blujin Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
1. Who This Policy Covers
This Policy applies to (a) Clients and their Authorized Users who access Resume Explorer, and (b) Candidates whose Job Description and Resume information is processed through Resume Explorer. Where a Client's Applicant Tracking System (“ATS”) provides Candidate data to Resume Explorer, the Client is responsible for providing Candidates with appropriate notice of that processing; this Policy describes Blujin's own handling of that data as a service provider to the Client.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account and Client Information
We collect information needed to create and administer a Blujin Client account and User IDs for its Authorized Users, such as name, work email address, company, and role.
2.2 Job Descriptions and Resumes
Resume Explorer ingests Job Descriptions and Resumes that a Client's connected Applicant Tracking System presents to it, together with the scoring and analysis Resume Explorer generates from that content.
2.3 Usage Data
We collect technical and usage information about how Resume Explorer is used, such as log data and feature usage, to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain Resume Explorer, including scoring and matching of Resumes against Job Descriptions.
- To determine job titles and related skillsets from a Job Description, and to score Resumes against that Job Description.
- To derive job titles, roles, and related skills from Job Descriptions and Resumes, and to build, train, and enhance the Blujin Skillbase, our proprietary skills ontology, as described in Section 4 below.
- To maintain Client account and support records.
- To secure the Service, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To communicate with Clients and their Authorized Users about the Service.
4. The Blujin Skillbase and Derived Data
Blujin's rights in the Job Descriptions and Resumes a Client's ATS presents to Resume Explorer are limited to identifying the job titles, roles, and related skills described in those documents. Blujin incorporates those job titles, roles, and skills into the Blujin Skillbase, our proprietary skills ontology, which we use and may retain indefinitely to improve skill-matching across the Service, including after the related Job Description or Resume is deleted from the Client's account. The Blujin Skillbase does not identify any individual Candidate and is owned exclusively by Blujin. Blujin does not otherwise use, license, sell, or claim ownership of the Job Description or Resume content itself.
5. Retention
- Job Descriptions and Resumes ingested by Resume Explorer are retained for as long as the Client allows, consistent with the Client's own retention settings and its agreement with Blujin.
- Account information is retained for as long as the Client's account remains active, and as needed to meet legal and administrative requirements.
- Usage data is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the Service.
- Job titles, roles, and skills incorporated into the Blujin Skillbase are retained indefinitely, as described in Section 4, regardless of the retention period applied to the source Job Description or Resume.
6. How We Share Information
Blujin does not share Job Descriptions, Resumes, Candidate information, or any other information collected through Resume Explorer with any third party.
A Client that uses Resume Explorer remains free to share Resumes, Job Descriptions, and related scoring output with others, consistent with the Client's own agreements and notices to the Candidates who submitted that information. That sharing is the Client's own action and is not sharing by Blujin.
7. Data Protection Roles
As between Blujin and a Client, the Client is the data controller (or “business,” under the CCPA/CPRA) for personal data of Candidates contained in Job Descriptions and Resumes, and Blujin acts as a data processor (or “service provider”) that processes that data on the Client's instructions. Blujin acts as an independent controller only for its own Client account information, and for the Blujin Skillbase and other derived, de-identified data described in Section 4.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because Blujin processes Candidate data as a service provider to a Client, Candidates should generally direct such requests to the Client (e.g., the employer or staffing firm using Resume Explorer) in the first instance. Blujin will also accept and respond to verifiable requests sent to the contact information in Section 11, consistent with our role and legal obligations, and will direct Candidates to the relevant Client where appropriate.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information processed through Resume Explorer. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Contact and Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time; material changes will be communicated as described in the Terms of Service. If you have questions about this Policy or wish to exercise a privacy right, contact us at:
