Blujin Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Blujin, Corp. ("Blujin," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with Blujin People Explorer ("People Explorer") and Blujin Resume Explorer ("Resume Explorer," and together with People Explorer, the "Products" or "Service"). This Policy is incorporated into, and should be read together with, the Blujin Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Policy applies to: (a) Clients and Authorized Users who access the Service; and (b) Candidates whose information is processed through the Service, whether viewed on a Professional Networking Platform via People Explorer or submitted via an ATS or upload via Resume Explorer. Where a Client uploads or connects Candidate data, the Client is responsible for providing Candidates with appropriate notice of that processing; this Policy describes Blujin's own handling of that data as a service provider.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and Client Information

We collect information needed to create and administer a Blujin User ID or Client account, such as name, work email address, company, role, and billing information.

2.2 Information via People Explorer

People Explorer analyzes profile information that is visible to the User within their own authenticated session on a Professional Networking Platform. People Explorer also collects Job Descriptions that a User uploads from a local disk drive or that it retrieves from a public URL the User provides.

2.3 Information via Resume Explorer

Resume Explorer collects Job Descriptions and Resumes that a Client or its Authorized Users upload from a connected ATS or from a local disk drive, together with the scoring and analysis Resume Explorer generates from that content.

2.4 Usage Data

We collect technical and usage information about how the Service is used, such as log data, device and browser information, and feature usage, to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Products, including scoring, matching, and search configuration;
  • To determine job titles and related skillsets from a Job Description, and to score Resumes or profiles against that Job Description;
  • To derive job titles, roles, and related skills from Job Descriptions and Resumes, and to build, train, and enhance the Blujin Skillbase, our proprietary skills ontology, as described in Section 4 below;
  • To maintain account, billing, and support records;
  • To secure the Service, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations; and
  • To communicate with Clients and Authorized Users about the Service.

4. The Blujin Skillbase and Derived Data

Blujin uses the content of Job Descriptions and Resumes submitted through either Product to derive job titles, roles, and associated skills, which we incorporate into the Blujin Skillbase. The Blujin Skillbase does not identify any individual Candidate and is owned exclusively by Blujin. We may use and retain the Blujin Skillbase indefinitely, including after a Client's or User's account is closed, because it does not contain personal information once derived.

5. Retention

Blujin retains copies of Job Descriptions submitted through People Explorer, and copies of Job Descriptions and Resumes submitted through Resume Explorer, for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, to maintain accurate records, and to support the Blujin Skillbase, unless a longer retention period is required by law or a Client's applicable agreement with Blujin specifies otherwise. Account and billing information is retained for as long as needed to administer the applicable account and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.

6. How We Share Information

Blujin does not sell Candidate information, and does not share Job Descriptions, Resumes, or Candidate-identifying information from either Product with any other party, except:

  • with service providers who process data on Blujin's behalf (for example, hosting or infrastructure providers), under confidentiality and data protection obligations consistent with this Policy;
  • as required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
  • to protect the rights, property, or safety of Blujin, our Users, Candidates, or others; or
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a substantially similar one.

A Client that uses Resume Explorer remains free to share Resumes, Job Descriptions, and related scoring output with others, consistent with the Client's own agreements and notices to the Candidates who submitted that information.

7. Data Protection Roles and International Transfers

As between Blujin and a Client, the Client is the data controller (or "business," under the CCPA/CPRA) for personal data of Candidates contained in Job Descriptions and Resumes, and Blujin acts as a data processor (or "service provider") that processes that data on the Client's instructions. Blujin acts as an independent controller only for account and billing information, and for the Blujin Skillbase and other derived, de-identified data described in Section 4. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on appropriate safeguards for any international transfer of personal data and will cooperate with Clients to support their compliance obligations.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because Blujin typically processes Candidate data as a service provider to a Client, Candidates should generally direct such requests to the Client (e.g., the employer or staffing firm using Resume Explorer) in the first instance. Blujin will also accept and respond to verifiable requests sent to the contact information in Section 11, and will honor requests consistent with our role and legal obligations, and will direct Candidates to the relevant Client where appropriate.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information processed through the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Contact and Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time; material changes will be communicated as described in the Terms of Service. If you have questions about this Policy or wish to exercise a privacy right, contact us at:
